Swedish Lyrics: NEW YORK TILL VÄSTERLEN

NEW YORK TILL VÄSTERLEN

Här i New York står en man
Som är sann och vet så väl vad han kan

Någonstans i republiken viskade damer

Här i New York står en man

English Lyrics:

NEW YORK TO THE SOUTHERN PLAIN

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

When the sun changes, horizons die
And you understand that betrayal is a game
Then something inside us changes
And the requirements are divided forever
My gauntlet was thrown and I thought
Can get messy, so take it cool
That’s exactly what I thought
And then took first best flight to the USA

Because this is my own city
Where I can see and I can smile
Here in New York stands a man
Who is true and knows so well what he can do

Somewhere in the Republic ladies were whispering
Loud and quiet in negligee
They said I should apply to the country
Yes, that country further down
At first I gaped and rightfully wondered
What they meant by that
But the answer is in the map book
And whoever wants to can come along

Because this is my own city
Where I can see and I can smile
Here in New York stands a man
Who is true and knows so well

But Rosalita she said, this is not good
The snow is dizzying here and everything is so cold
We take to the heat, you go first
Then she pulled her hand out of mine and disappeared

Then the flight landed
And I arrived a few days before you
A boat to the Virgin Islands
So than then, my love had found home
I remember the white dock, how we stood there
How the wind blew in your hair
Mm, give me what I can take, you said
In a silk dress from Mr. Dior

But I went back to my own city
Where I can see and I can smile
A man lives here in Västerlen (Southern Plain)
Who is true and knows so well what he can do

And in a little while the coffee will be ready

Lyrics: BECAUSE

BECAUSE

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Sometimes you win, though it’s a sin
to be a broken looser
I don’t mind what I might find
cause in my mind there’s a solution
When the master ruled I said goodbye
Weak or strong I couldn’t get along
… no one’s right or wrong, because

Hey baby
I’m just a laughing clown
Hey maybe
I’m a king without a crown

Some made their tricks and some stacked bricks
in search for holy water
Some came up high and some came low
I stood there laughing all day
Once upon a time up on a hill
once upon a time the time stood still, because:

Hey baby
I’m just a laughing clown
Hey maybe
I’m a king without a golden crown

But in the city of seduction
in the city without light
there really isn’t too much time
cause I don’t fear for my body
I owe owe owe, I owe my soul

Hey baby
I’m just a laughing clown
Hey maybe
I’m a king without a crown

You know the timing is essential
You know the timing is the seed
Oh the timing is critical
Oh yeah bad timing is the weed

Hey baby
I’m just a laughing clown
Hey maybe, alright
I’m a king without a crown

Lyrics: LOCK YOU UP

LOCK YOU UP

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

They said you didn’t want to go to heaven
The hole was to small
All too small for the pearly gate
and too young for God’s hall
Looked innocent and frightened
as you drove away

No I couldn’t lock you up
no room for me your ego was too tall
I couldn’t take your mind or
take you for a walk down memory lane

Couldn’t wouldn’t

I always thought you looked like Maggie Dean
except you weren’t so tall
You looked just like her as you danced and swung
Could be your sister, could get along
But no one knew your secrets
as you drove away

No I couldn’t lock you up
no room for me your ego was too tall
I couldn’t take your mind or
take you for a walk down memory lane

Ah pretty women in your high heels
You’re blushing through your blouse
I still hope what’s best for you
I still hope you get applause

I couldn’t lock you up
no room for me your ego was too tall
I couldn’t take your mind or
take you for a walk down memory lane

I couldn’t lock you up
no room for me
I couldn’t take your mind
take you for a walk

I couldn’t lock you up
no room for me your ego was too tall
I couldn’t take your mind or
take you for a walk down memory lane
…down memory lane

Lyrics: SO MANY ROADS

SO MANY ROADS

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén, Ulf Melin, Jan-Åke Johansson / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

So many roads you have to go
So many roads you just don’t know
So many, so many roads, ah so many

Now I’m standing in the shade
all alone but not afraid
of all the memories in my black hole
Me and you, your pretty face
Took the car a distant place
Back in lovers lane you flew away
So I’m free, like a bird in the ocean
Free, lost in space and time, because

So many roads you have to go
So many roads you just don’t know
So many, so many roads, ah so many

Right above me only rain
Feel the need, I feel the pain
Oh I wonder what that guy gets
But honey deep down inside
I sincerely hope you try
Try to give him more than questions why
Cause I’m free, like a bird in the water
Free, lost in space and time, because

So many roads you have to go
So many roads you just don’t know
So many, so many roads, so many many

Walking down that street again
Down that lonely path again
When I found that you were near me
nanananananana

So many roads you had to go
So many roads you just didn’t know
So many, so many roads, come on now

So many roads you had to go
So many roads you just didn’t know
So many roads so many, so many roads

So many roads so many
So many roads so many
So many roads so many
So many roads so many roads

Lyrics: IN THE CITY

IN THE CITY

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

See you in the city
where the girls are pretty
Sure enough Gena and her friend Sabrine
See you in the city, listen Nitty Gritty
Start up the engine and let’s blow it away

There is a fishing boat out somewhere
My thumping heart beats right on time
And from the floor a smell of mint tea
My neighbor does this all the time, I think that I’ll go

To the city where the girls are pretty
sure enough Gena and her friend Sabrine
See you in the city, listen Nitty Gritty
Start up the engine and let’s blow it away

My Gena begs me to stay put when
she looks mysterious and laughs
Says your behavior is demanding
I wonder what is on her mind, I think that I’ll go

To the city where the girls are pretty
sure enough Gena and her friend Sabrine
See you in the city, listen Nitty Gritty
Start up the engine and let’s blow it away

Well Gena’s father was a sailor
He sailed the oceans and the tide
But hey you know he was a dead man
He simulated how to live, and how to die, let’s go

To the city where the girls are pretty
Sure enough Gena and her friend Sabrine
See you in the city, listen Nitty Gritty
Start up the engine and let’s blow it away, oh yeah

She said…

Lyrics: IT’S BEEN SO LONG

IT’S BEEN SO LONG

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

It’s been so long, since I left your girl
It’s been so long since we sang Shalalalalala
It’s been so long, far too long,
It’s been so long since time was on our side

Waiting for this moment
Lord oh Lord, you’ve done me wrong
Waiting for the crossfire, someone turn it on
I’ve been standing
Standing here it’s been so long
Waiting with my fire, Lord you’ve done me wrong

It’s been so long, since I left your girl
It’s been so long since we sang Shalalalalala
It’s been so long, hey far too long
It’s been so long since time was on our side

In the brake of day
Lord oh Lord, it’s been so long
Someone anyone should be here, help me get along
Only shadows on the wall, it’s been so long
Standing with my fire, Lord you’ve done me wrong

It’s been so long, since I left your girl
It’s been so long since we sang Shalalalalala
It’s been so long, hey far too long
It’s been so long since time was on our side

Lord if you could see me now
I’ve been chopped to pieces, Lord I’m so alone

…help me get along
… it’s been far too long know
… since we sang Shalalala

It’s been so long, since I left your girl
It’s been so long since we sang Shalalalalala
It’s been so long, hey far too long
It’s been so long since time was on our side

It’s been so long so long
Since I left you, now you’re far away

Lyrics: FUTURE

FUTURE

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Stood by a waterfall, you fell, I fell
head over heels so high
I fell, deep well
And when I found you weren’t around
and deep emotions stirred I frowned
something peculiar arose

Sometimes when there is no future
Sometimes there aint no hope
Ah you know, I’ll be there for you
when the morning comes
You know when there’s no future
You know when there’s no hope
Ah you know, I’ll be there so true
When the morning comes again

Oh when the morning comes, I’ll be there for
you when the clouds get dark
I’ll be there my love
You didn’t realize the pain
and all the anguish that was payed
oh it’s so easy, let it heal

Sometimes when there is no future
Sometimes when there’s no hope
Ah you know, I’ll be there for you
when the morning comes
You know when there’s no future
You know when there’s no hope
Ah you know, I’ll be there so true

Oh I will say these only words
I’ll even shout it to be heard
I think I’ll say it once or twice
I’ll even say it to be nice
oh yeah yeah yeah

Sometimes there is no future
Sometimes there aint no hope
but I’ll be there for you
I surely truly do know
when there aint no future
and there aint no hope
I will be there so true, oh I will

Be there when there’s no future
and when there’s no hope
I will be there oh so true
You know I will I will

Lyrics: LADY RUTH

LADY RUTH

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

One sunny day you win, all though it’s a sin
you don’t want to be a broken looser
I don’t mind what I find, cause in my mind
yeah in my head there is just solutions

Maybe baby am I just, a colored laughing clown
baby just a king without a golden crown

Some came up high and some came low
searching and looking for holy water
Gold dust in one pan, and angels in my land
let’s make obeisance here comes a magic preacher

Maybe baby am I just, a pathetic laughing clown
baby just a king without a golden crown

No one knows the answers, got to find the truth
A whole lot of love and a bucket full of you Ruth

… got to find the truth
… and that’s why

Let’s roll the dice a little further, oh yeah
let’s roll a lifetime to be lured, ah yeah

Cause if the timing is right, and the heartache is burning
there is a way and a place to be turning

oh my my my lets fade away
tell the truth now Ruth
Got to find it
…tell the truth now Ruth

Lyrics: BYE BYE BYE

BYE BYE BYE

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

She said, Bye bye bye, this is all for today
Life is just a state of mind, just a state of mind

Thinking about you right now, miss you so much
I’m thinking about the tragedy, about the way it all was
The truth is so scary, just crazy like we were
but we tend to forget, all to soon just like all fools do

She said, Bye bye bye, this is all for today
Life is just a state of mind, just a state of mind

In the summer of 84 you just let it all go
I didn’t quite understand, so I joined this band
Anyway now I know you’ll never be coming back
No no no, no no way, you’ll never be coming back

She said, Bye bye bye, this is all for today
Life is just a state of mind, just a state of mind

I will never give up
cause I’m gonna reach the top
of your burning mountain
that whispers come on

Bye bye bye, this is all for today
Life is just a state of mind, just a state of mind
it’s just a state of

Bye bye bye, this is all for today
Life is just a state of mind, just a state of mind
a state of mind, state of mind, a state of mind…

Lyrics: IT’S MAGIC

IT’S MAGIC

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Oh it’s magic – looking at your identity
Oh imagine – your eyes are soft as silicone weed

Went up to Stockholm to make amends
It didn’t make sense
Your query smile drove me insane
I longed for the plane… home
It is impossible to figure this out
It’s an illusion, maybe a dice with snake eyes
My inner circle went yeah, no, no, no, yeah, like a twisted pray

Oh it’s magic – looking at your identity
Oh imagine – your eyes are soft as silicon weed

Rats in the hole I know I know
But I’m blind as a mouse
Treasures to be found in there you’re hot
but cold as ice
Even though that’s a fact I’m melting
I just see the jewels in your aura
This magic feeling makes me wanna die but I’m high, high, high in the sky

Oh it’s magic – looking at your identity
Oh imagine – your eyes are soft as silicon weed

Well your smell is devoting
And your skin sure is trembling
Maybe it’s an illusion inside my head
I’m still longing for your bed

Oh it’s magic – looking at your identity
Oh imagine – your eyes soft as silicon weed

Oh it’s magic – looking at your identity
Oh imagine – your eyes soft as silicon weed

Oh yeah, oh yeah

Lyrics: OH SO HAPPY

OH SO HAPPY

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Little girl of mine
soon it will be time
for your life to start
and this is where I fall right apart
When you ask me why
gonna get it out…

…of the doorway,
she was oh so happy oh so sad
She went into the gateway
she felt oh so happy oh so mad

Little friend of mine
face it right on time
Gonna let you go
wasn’t quite expecting you to grow
Sink or float
maybe fast or slow, in your boat, out…

…of the doorway
she was oh so happy oh so sad
She went into the gateway
she felt oh so happy oh so

There ain’t no way for me to say
nothing but it’s alright dear
It will be found, all the edges around
all that I fear so dear

Yeah yeah yeah yeah

She came out of the doorway
she was oh so happy oh so sad
She crashed into the gateway
she was oh so soho oh so glad

Lyrics: REBELS

REBELS

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

No one could catch us then
We were the cats
Of sin but so honest men sometimes
And all of us were the best
Fighting the rest
Using our minds to fell glow

Flew with our wings so high
We always tried
To be the constant rebels
Up were the winds are high
The sky is blue
We were in constant trouble

Here where it’s quiet and calm
I look behind
Reading my palm
The futures bright
Nearby the old oak tree
Where we used to be
My friend’s nice monsters

Flew with our wings so high
We always tried
To be the constant rebels
Up were the winds are high
The sky is blue
We were in constant trouble

Sometimes down and out
Sometimes terrible loss
Sometimes without a doubt
We were true rebels

Sometimes down and out
Sometimes terrible loss
Sometimes without a doubt
We were true rebels

Up with our wings so high
We always tried
We were the constant rebels
Up were the winds are high
The sky is blue
We were the constant heroes

Lyrics: COME HOME

COME HOME

(Lyrics: Anne-Kathrine Heiberg & Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Crazy people everywhere I see
Crazy people make me wanna flee
All I want is you to be around
All I want is you to lift me from this ground

So come home
I’m tired of waiting, waiting for the phone
Ah Come Home
I’m laying here and you are on your own

No one makes me laugh the way you do
No one else devotion about loving you
Baby you’re the angel of my life
Baby don’t look sad, you have to be my wife

So come home
I’m tired of waiting, waiting for the phone
Ah Come Home
I’m laying here and you are on your own

It’s your heart that makes me breathe
it’s your smile that makes me live
shalalalalalala life

…Ah come home

So come home
I’m tired of waiting, waiting for the phone
Ah Come Home
I’m laying here and you are on your own

So come home
I’m tired of waiting, waiting for the phone
Ah Come Home
I’m laying here and you are on your own

Come home…

Come home
Tonight I’m waiting, waiting for the phone
Ah Come Home
I’m laying here and you are on your own

Lyrics: HERE COMES THE SUN

HERE COMES THE SUN

(Lyrics:Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Here comes the sun, here it comes again
Here comes the sun, here it comes again

We were restless
We were out of tune
So restless
We were out of tune

Here comes the sun, here it comes again
Here comes the sun, here it comes again

I’m restless
I’m out of tune
So restless
So out of tune

Hey Julie
You were my friend
Hey Julie
Thought you were my friend
Once again I’m left out…

Here comes the sun, here it comes again
Here comes the sun, here it comes again

Hey Julie
You were my friend
Hey Julie
Thought you were my friend
Once again I’m left alone…

Lyrics: TWIN SOULS

TWIN SOULS

(Lyrics: Anne-Kathrine Heiberg & Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Each time you look into my eyes
There is no hide
My thoughts and all my feelings
Open as a book, so read out loud
Your next to me, but I can’t touch
My mind is reaching out for you
Can you feel this, and do you know
What I want to say, every day

We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we’ll live forever
We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we could love together

Your skin is just like velvet
Can I wear you
Our bodies melt together
Dreams are for free, you see
Hey, you and me, two of a kind
Babe we are the perfect match
But circumstances just like this
Keep us apart like railroad tracks

We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we’ll live forever
We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we could love together

Our hearts are out of rhythm
and beating blues
Why do I have to miss you
Why do you have to miss me too, I wonder

We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we’ll live forever
We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we could love forever yeah

…we could love together yeah

We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we’ll live forever
We’re twin souls, when we get old
Oh we could love forever yeah

We could live forever, yeah
We could love forever yeah
We could love yeah

Lyrics: ONE WAVE

ONE WAVE

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

Some stay, they just can’t hide
No need to dive, no wave to ride
Sometimes I wish I could
I know I would, but there’s a tide (to consider)

There’s only one wave here
Only on way near
There’s only one road clear
To the life and your heart, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

They stole the easy way
and we said hey, what’s been delayed
You see them all pretend
We can’t defend, it all depends

There’s only one wave here
Only on way near
There’s only one road clear
To the life and your heart, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

All the backfires in the old black Harley
We’ve seen losers that were killing wizards
Turn led to gold
Pure gold

There’s only one wave here
Only on way near
There’s only one road clear
To the life and your heart, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

There’s only one wave here
Only on way near
There’s only one road clear
To the life and your heart, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Check it out!

…yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Lyrics: LAST DANCE

LAST DANCE

(Lyrics: Lars Brodén / Music: Lars Brodén / Publishing: Heartland Rockhouse)

I’m standing, in a no man’s land
Cause I couldn’t differ wrong from right
I’m standing in a dark shade
The future looked bright
I’m standing in the doorway
Was looking right outside
I’m standing in the doorway
Just about to lose my mind
Cause I was stone cold sober
When you went away
I was stone cold sober
I was…

It’s our last dance, it’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive
It’s our last dance, it’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive

It’s funny, once and a while
I get the feeling of being alive
Once and a while
Remember your soft skin close to mine
But time is getting closer now
Yeah close enough to find
Your secret hide away
I’m lost in space and time
Cause I remember, I was stone cold sober
Thought you went away
I was stone cold sober
I was…

It’s our last dance, It’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive
It’s our last dance, It’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive

Meet me down the old and dusty road leading down
To the park, and tell your dad to bury his axe and give my love
Give it to your ma’

It’s our last dance, It’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive
It’s our last dance, It’s our last chance
To come alive, come alive, come alive

I am burning baby, burning
Fever is getting tougher each day…
